A CRACKING CYCLO-SPORTIVE IN THE PEAK DISTRICT

SUNDAY 10TH SEPTEMBER 2023

The Billy

Our signature and most popular ride is a new, future-proofed 105 km, featuring some of the most demanding climbs and exciting descents in this part of the Peak District. It includes Mam Nick and Longstone Edge to test the riders climbing legs, with a spot prize for the two big climbs in The Goat Strava Club

The Nanny

54 KM, our mid-route, all signed and supported on mostly quiet roads. A tour suitable for reasonably fit adults, and takes in some of our most stunning scenery and natural beauty as well as a couple of killer climbs up Monsal Head and Sheldon Bank.
Training needed!

The Gruff

65 km mid and 80 km long options for the adventure bikers, a superb, challenging gravel ‘reliability’ route which means NO signs, just you, your mates and your GPS. And a lot of fun.

The Kid

22 KM, our fabulous, free, fully signed and supported family ride with challenging, mixed terrain over the drove roads of Eyam and Hucklow and a very special ‘one-day-only’ magical mystery trail down from Maclough to Bank Top Farms.

Introducing the Billy No Mates Century Ride

The Billy No Mates is new for the next decade; we have responded to local club riders and curated a 100 mile ‘Century’ route, for those who need to push the boundaries of the Goat pen.

Our brand new 100 mile Century ride to challenge any club rider or Audax junkie in the land. 40% signed, 60% self-supported – you will need to have a GPS unit and know how to use it! Snack Stop and Feed Station plus vehicle support in case of major mechanical. *Route may change before September – email update sent to all entrants Thursday 7th September.*

The Troll

Fresh for 2023, we’ve stirred The Troll, the ultra nemesis of the 3 Billy Goats (it lives under the GrindleFord bridge). Attempt all three signed routes (Billy, Nanny, Kid) as well as the Gruff gravel, in any order you choose within 24 hours. Start anytime from 12.01 am and finish before 11.59 pm Sunday – this is an unsupported ride but we will check you out and in, fuel you at the snack stop and feed station (when they are open!) and tend to your needs at the event centre – details to follow.

Roughly 150 miles or 240km with around 4,800m or 15748 feet of ascent. Just don’t do it if you don’t want to!

*The Troll will raise money in memory of Dan Webber, a long-time friend and supporter of The Grindleford Goat who died before his time in 2022. Profits from The Troll entry fees will be donated to the fund. In addition there is a Just Giving page for those wanting to encourage friends and family to sponsor your effort and support a very worthy cause in memory of an honorary Goat!

All proceeds support the local community through The Grindleford Goat Charity.
